Don’t look now!

Today is Halloween. Obviously, the tradition of trick-or-treating wouldn’t have been part of Little Jesus’ routine. On the other hand, venerating the dead was. And that is precisely what lies just past the stroke of midnight tonight. Hallows’ Day — All Saints Day — a day to remember the faithful departed. Saints are those people many of us look for inspiration as we navigate our own challenges.

Viviana and Olivia enjoy thinking and talking about the great saintly people who have come before us. Currently, St. Joan of Arc is a favorite as is St. Elizabeth mother of John the Baptist. We talk about the trivial things they might have done — what a day in their life might have been like. After all, very little is written which leaves for us lots of room for wonderment.

That reminds me of our books. I heard someone recently describe them as a version of “a day in the life” with the life being that of a little Jewish boy named Jesus.

Isn’t that just too special. A day in the life. What Little Jesus might have experienced. Wonderment.

And I mean it when I say that older readers (the Bigs, as I call them) say things like the bookies are “life changing” and how the readers wished they’d have had the chance to wonder these very things when they were kiddos. Our books celebrate their official 1st birthday tomorrow!

November 1, 2024, was the day we launched The Little Jesus Chronicles. It’s crazy to think of how far we’ve come in just 365 days.

Our books are available on Amazon, of course, and literally hundreds of online bookstores around the globe. We are also in lots of retail stores and gift shops in Oklahoma and Arkansas.

Just in time for our 1st book birthday, we have launched our own online shop. And it’s the only place you’ll find this incredible offer! We will add all our books to the online shop by early 2026. This allows us to customize offers for special events like book fairs and church festivals.

Pipeline Update

Little Jesus and Friends’ Activity Book 2, our second activity book, follows stories 4 - 6 which are Wiggly Tooth, Marketplace Thief, and Muddy Masterpiece. This super book has more than coloring pages and is fun for all ages. Reading the stories in advance isn’t required but it definitely helps with solving the puzzles! We expect this activity book to be released in December.

Book 7: Little Jesus and the Fishing Adventure is on schedule for release in early 2026. We’ve been asked why we are moving so quickly. We have a few answers. To begin with, our authors Viviana and Olivia are now 6 and 8. And Mimi, well, I’m just past “none your bizness.” Nobody knows how much time we have on this earth so we are moving ahead to complete the first collection by late 2026. We also are deeply indebted to our illustration team from Folks and Fables. They committed to work with us for 3 years and we’re in the last of those 3 now. We would love love love (and might I add really love) to have enough interest in our books to keep going beyond the initial 10. Time will tell.

Back to the Fishing Adventure. Little Jesus and Wolfie join Abba on a short walk to Saba Joachim’s fishing boat to spend a day on the water. Readers will learn about the fishing trade as well as about the Sukkot festival. Do you know what an etrog is? We didn’t either!

No doubt our stories are culturally fascinating and beautifully illustrated tales that will leave your heart full and your spirit warmed.

Libraries!

Did we mention we are now in our first library?! We’ve attended oodles of library events but we are officially on the shelves at the Scott-Sebastian Regional Library in Arkansas. They have our books in both English and Spanish!

It’s important to us that we use all the avenues possible to get our stories into the hands of the Littles. That’s why we work so hard to get our books cataloged at the Library of Congress.

On The Road Again!

We have two stops scheduled for November.

First, we’ll be at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Mustang, OK, on Saturday, November 8. The Altar Society has its annual craft fair and we’ll be there with all our books and stuffies! This is a “weather permitting” event so stay tuned to the skies and message us if you are headed over but want to confirm we’re on site.

Our next event will be as guest readers for story time at Best of Books in Edmond, OK, on November 22. We will be reading Little Jesus and the Bethlehem Birthday.
