Have you ever gotten tired from resting?

We planned to get all rested up but have found ourselves just as busy as ever. Busy watching snow fall. Busy watching weather forecasters. Busy resting. Busy recharging. Busy planning.

Highlights from our month include the soft launch of our seventh book, Little Jesus and the Fishing Adventure. Those colors are a divine break from winter drab albeit bright white outside.

We booked 4 events for late winter/early spring.

And we have made slow progress on the paperworky part of running the book company.

Pipeline Update

Little Jesus and the Fishing Adventure — NOW AVAILABLE!

What boy wouldn’t jump at the chance to go fishing with his father? Or sleep outside with his puppy?

As Imma prepares for the upcoming festival of Sukkot, Little Jesus, Wolfie, and Abba meet Aaron at his boat for a morning of fishing. Little Jesus learns all about Abba’s friend Aaron and the business of fishing. Once they’ve caught plenty, Little Jesus and Wolfie accompany Abba to the family’s courtyard to build a sukkah to sleep in that night. Meanwhile, Imma returns from the market with the things she needs for the festival.

This adventurous story pairs the fun nature of the great outdoors with important lessons about Little Jesus’ ancestors. It’s a perfect warm-up to camping adventures of all sorts where family and goodness are on the agenda.

What’s our favorite part of this book? It’s hard to pin it down. We learned so much about the Feast of the Tabernacles (aka Sukkot) that we’d never heard before. And the girls have asked if we could incorporate some of its traditions into a new tradition of our own. How’s that for impactful reading?

On the road again!

We have several events lined up for 2026. Be sure to plan ahead if you see one you’d like to attend. And continue to send us leads.

In February, our book show returns to the OKC Convention Center for a private event. The Oklahoma Catholic Women’s Conference will be held on Saturday, February 21. As you can guess, we are over the moon with excitement. If you’d like to register to attend, there’s still time. Even though this conference sells out, they offer a waitlist option. So come see us if you are attending this event.

Paperworky

Running a business is sometimes not so fun. We have to remind ourselves that “give to Caesar” and other passages, quotes, and quips are still relevant in our world. Usually, we just have to remember our purpose to get the energy to push ahead.

Two of those things involve big buildings in Washington, DC!

First, the Library of Congress is currently reviewing Little Jesus and the Muddy Masterpiece. If the process goes as it has with our others, then this book will be cataloged at the LoC. Not many authors go to the trouble to make this happen. These books are THAT important to us! And if you make it to DC someday, add a stop at the Library of Congress to visit our beloved books in the Great Hall (Jefferson’s preferred name for the main reading room). Appointments are required to go into the main reading room but the museum and exhibits are open regardless.

Second, our application to trademark (and protect) The Little Jesus Chronicles continues. We started the process on April 4, 2024. It is expensive and time consuming AND something we felt we needed to do. We want to protect our intellectual property, of course. More importantly, we want to safeguard our stories from those who might try to manipulate the content and diminish our message.

Our legal team tells us we are nearing the end of the process. We hope a decision from the United States Patent and Trademark Office comes soon!
