Greetings!

While the rest of our world was scraping ice and buying heart-shaped things for their sweeties, we were busy this month developing our very first coloring and activity book. We haven’t quite decided on its name. More on that a little further down in this update.

We are finishing up the edits on Book 4: Little Jesus and the Wiggly Tooth.

We booked some events for Spring 2025.

We gifted a couple of priests with “starter books” when we saw them finishing up their lunch at an eatery in OKC.

We gifted books to a mommy whose Littles lost much of their world after a tornado struck their home.

We direct emailed about 320 faith-based schools to connect as they plan events like book fairs or author visits.

We gifted Spanish books to a family who just relocated to our region.

Our website and monthly newsletter is just about ready for primetime! There are a few little hiccups we have yet to iron out. Yet, we wanted to send this first edition to you today.

I think we’ve been a little busy. I mean a lot busy. And you know what? We wouldn’t have it any other way!

Coloring and Activity Book #1

We aren’t sure what we will call this lovely and entertaining book. We are leaning towards Little Jesus and Friends ~ Activity Book. Or something along that line.

The target age is 5 - 8 years of age. Honestly, though, it has universal appeal (per our focus groups). This activity book has around 24 coloring pages and around 14 pages of mazes, crossword puzzles, matching and other brainy games. My co-authors Viviana and Olivia LOVE LOVE LOVE the drafts!

This first activity book will be available through online bookstore including Amazon in March.

Last thing on this — it will be a spectacular book to have by an Easter basket on Sunday morning. Imagine that — amping up those secular baskets of bunnies, eggs, and candies with a real honest-to-goodness Jesus thing!

Book 4: Little Jesus and the Wiggly Tooth

The question that lead to the launch of The Little Jesus Chronicles was simply “Mimi, how did Little Jesus lose his first tooth?”

This story, fictional obviously, imagines what it was like when Little Jesus lost that very first tooth. We did our research and created a story that speaks to the life changes that occur as kids begin to lose their baby teeth. When reflecting, we thought about growth and the need for reconciliation. Then we remembered — Yom Kippur — the holiest day of the year for Jewish people.

As Catholics, the three of us didn’t know a lot about this Jewish holy day. We did our own research and spoke with our Jewish friends to ensure we were accurate in our depiction.

The story includes guest appearances by Viviana and Olivia.

Book 4 “Wiggly Tooth” will be available through online bookstores including Amazon in April.

We think this book will also be a perfect item to include with goodies on Easter morning. We just hope it meets the deadlines and releases in time.

Our host for this event is the Lake Country Christian School. Their school is located at 410 Maple Drive, Sand Springs, OK 74063, which is just west of Tulsa.

Book 1: Little Jesus and the Lonely Puppy

If you haven’t picked up one of our books yet, let’s talk!

Our books aren’t “ordinal” meaning you don’t have to read them in any particular order.

That said, we suggest you start out with Little Jesus and the Lonely Puppy. In this story, Little Jesus and his family shop at the market near their home. On this particular shopping trip, however, the family ends up taking home more than just groceries.

Some of our stories have “real live” (sort of ) people from the Bible. While other characters are fictional. In this story, for instance, there is an old blind man who is fictional. This story also includes my co-authors Viviana and Olivia tending to a sheep and her lamb.

There are clever inclusions of Bible themes and passages, and Hebrew and Jewish cultural elements, to provide a robust and engaging experience for our readers. Yet, we don’t want our books to feel preachy or to disappoint any particular denomination. These are faith-based historical fiction stories.

Like Dabi. That donkey had to have a name. And we searched for hours to come up with the perfect name. Dabi? Dabi is Hebrew for “dearly loved.” It is usually pronounced dah-BEE. But honestly, we’ve grown smitten with our mispronunciation of Dobby.

Have I piqued your interest? I sure hope so. These stories were an absolute joy to create. Our talented illustrators are the best in the world customizing (no AI!) the drawings to match our vision. And the stories have — I kid you not — enhance even the way we grownups relate to Jesus allowing us to imagine Him in a way we’d never before considered.
